We are excited to announce the launch of RecruitNC, the soon-to-be go-to resource for wrestling recruiting in North Carolina and beyond. RecruitNC will include prospect rankings, high school and club profiles, college profiles, and much more all designed to support colleges, parents, and athletes in the recruiting journey. The first feature we are launching is the College Commit page, showcasing the graduating class of 2025.
This class of 2025 is truly historic for North Carolina wrestling and will likely be the last class competing in 4A at the NCHSAA level for the foreseeable future, marking the end of an era. Wrestling is more than a sport; it’s a foundation for lifelong success. This group experienced a pivotal year that raised the bar for wrestling in the state, breaking records and setting new standards.
The all-NC teams at the 2024 Ultimate Club Duals (UCD) and the 2025 NHSCA Duals both achieved historic milestones. The UCD team reached a gold finalist position, and the NHSCA Duals team advanced to the Round of 16 the best performances ever for an all-NC team.
These teams weren’t just made up solely of the class of 2025, but many from this class played key roles in developing teammates from other classes, elevating the entire program. Overall, North Carolina had more NHSCA individual All-Americans this year than ever before, and the 2025 class recorded the state’s second-best NHSCA individual performance since 1990.
This group represents wrestlers from clubs and high schools across the state who committed to college programs at every level from NCAA Division I to NAIA. With NC United launching in 2024, this class spent more time training together, pushing each other in the true spirit of “iron sharpens iron.”
Class of 2025 as you move forward, remember wrestling is your foundation, not your destination. Use it as the springboard to achieve your collegiate wrestling goals and then keep reaching higher. Shoot for the stars, but stay grounded in the values that got you here. Balancing academics and career preparation is essential throughout your college journey. Plant the seeds for your future early by taking advantage of internships, mentorship, and networking opportunities. And always give back, it’s your responsibility and obligation to keep North Carolina wrestling strong and growing.
