The NC United College Prospect Rankings are designed to showcase the best wrestling talent in North Carolina. We’ve identified athletes who demonstrate:

  • College Open participation (age-appropriate) – While it’s rare for sophomores to compete in college opens, those who do and have success demonstrate readiness for the level of competition.
  • Performance at national competitions – We look at results from events such as NHSCA Nationals, Super 32, Fargo, Journeymen, Southeast Regionals, Ultimate Club Duals, and other notable tournaments.
  • Wins over nationally ranked opponents – Top prospects are consistently achieving quality wins against ranked wrestlers, proving their readiness for the next step.
  • Quality of wins during the high school season – Strong in-season performance, especially against tough competition, is key in identifying future stars.Exceptional skills on the mat.

Leah Edwards | 114 lbs. | East Rowan HS

Leah Edwards is a two-time state champion, winning back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024. She has been consistently active in the Freestyle circuit at both regional and national levels.

Anna Ockerman | 100 lbs. | Corinth Holders HS

Anna Ockerman is ranked #30 nationally by FloWrestling and was the 2024 state runner-up. She had the deepest run in the 18U division at Fargo Nationals among North Carolina wrestlers, coming within one match of earning All-American honors. Committed to Presbyterian University

Sumaiya Aamound | 138 lbs. | Jack Britt HS

Ranked #18 nationally by USA Wrestling and earning All-American honors at Super 32 2024 showcase Sumaiya’s abilities on the mat. Her performance at Ultimate Duals further highlights her continued commitment to Freestyle competition and wins on the national stage.

Brianna DeLeon | 145 lbs. | Weddington HS

Brianna DeLeon is a two-time state champion, winning titles in both 2023 and 2024. She has competed on the regional and national Freestyle scene, earning significant wins at the Ultimate Duals.

Addison Vindigni | 120 lbs. | Cleveland HS

Addison Vindigni has proven her ability to compete at a high level, securing a state placement and a championship at the 2024 Gate City Grapple. She holds notable wins over top-ranked wrestlers across multiple weight classes and notable wins over top competitors on the national stage.
